Studying or surveying entire populations is oftentimes impractical due to time and financial constraints. As a result, the use of proper sampling techniques is vital in being able to generalize research findings to the larger target population. This webinar will present a range of probability and non-probability sampling designs and discuss their various strengths and limitations utilizing relevant examples. The webinar will also include discussions of the importance of sampling to the external validity of experimental designs and to statistical analysis. JRSA research staff will deliver this webinar, the second in a new series of skill-building courses meant to provide a review of basic statistical and research methods.
